Happy Hour: Lemon Thyme Cocktail

6

This is an odd time of year to write a cocktail column.  It’s not quite summer, so the traditional warm weather drinks are out.  And it’s not chilly enough for warm mugs filled with brandy and schnapps.  Luckily, Kelly from The Gouda Life has a cocktail that bridges the gap between summer and fall.

This Lemon-Thyme Tequila Spritzer contains bright citrus flavors with herbal notes to create a truly enjoyable cocktail.  This creation starts with a thyme and lemon simple syrup and adds tequila and garnish.  Want the full recipe?  You can find it on the blog A Taste of Home.

Steven Alan Cameron Lace Mini (The Outnet, $174)

Here’s why I like this dress: 1) a long-sleeved lace mini can be worn now with heels and in colder weather with black tights and booties/pumps, 2) it’s winter white, so it doesn’t scream “Summer!”, and 3) you can dress it up or dress it down with ease.  In short, it’s a great choice for the summer to fall transition.

If I were wearing this dress now, I’d choose a brightly-colored statement necklace and a modern t-strap sandal.  A little later in the autumn, I would wear it with a tuxedo blazer, this sparkly charcoal necklace, black tights and black suede platforms.
