V Neck Pencil Dress (Topshop, $92)
This dress reminds me of a folded pencil dress that Kate Middleton wore earlier this year. With a neutral color and short sleeves, it’s perfect for the summer to fall transition. And it also comes in tan, if you’re not feeling the black.

This dress is so perfect, and the price is oh-so-nice. While I didn't see what Kate wore earlier this year (how does she always nail outfits? I mean, even before she was royalty. I'm not trying to emulate her, but I am consistently impressed) until just now, I would say this is comfortably close without being too obvious a copycat.

Whoever it is that continues to advise Mrs. Obama to wear the shrug lengh tops should be stop immediately. While the little jackets and sweaters are adorable, they do not flatter. She is a tall gal, even a couple of inches longer would help the silhouette. kate keeps it classic! Who doesn't look good in classic cuts and lengths? An edge to classic…in this area, there is confidence.
